Honey Comb Clean Up

Normally we provide Water and Fire Restoration services but every once in a while we will get thrown a curve ball like we did the day we received a call asking if we can clean up a closet that had been covered in honey comb.  Our first questions was weather or not the bees were gone as that is not something we would be able to take care of.  After confirming that, we scheduled an assessment to go over the scope of work and a crew was scheduled to start the work.

SERVPRO tackled, contained, and accomplished an unusual clean-up detail for me: honey oozing onto the floor from my furnace room ceiling.  

Apparently a honeybee colony had taken up residence in the space between the ceiling and the floor above.  But it wasn’t that simple because there was also honey oozing down the wall and from the furnace duct that went through that wall.  The bees were long gone but the 5 feet of honey-soaked hive that they left is what became my big problem.  

The SERVPRO team came in, discovered the source and extent of the damage, identified the best way to reach a solution, laid out the step wise plan to achieve that solution, and then began the clean-up and removal job.  Not only did the team successfully clear and clean the mess, but they did so efficiently, confidently, and conscientiously.  They also kept me apprised of their progress and were always polite and helpful.
