Participating in the Charlottesville Community

In June 2020, SERVPRO of Charlottesville took part in the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce program, “Project Rebound”.

Why is this important?

The 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic unleashed havoc on our local community, not to mention the entire world. Per usual, the Charlottesville community pulled together to come up with solutions for our own economic recovery. Project Rebound was led by the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce “in collaboration with economic partners at the University of Virginia, Albemarle County, and the City of Charlottesville and supported by volunteers and funding from the City, County and GO Virginia.”

We, along with other local businesses, donated our time and talents to create reopening demonstration videos of real-world solutions for practicing COVID-19 safety measures and offer them to the community.

This volunteerism reflects our core values in leadership, teamwork, integrity, growth, and a whole lot of hustle.

Some of our favorite community involvement actives over the past few years have been:

  • “Trunk or Treating” with Melicca Dunn State Farm, October 2020
  • “Drive at Five” Game on Z95.1 Radio, July 2020
  • Salvation Army and their Angel Tree donations, 2019
  • Boys and Girls Club/Cops 4 Kids day Montessori Truck Touch Event, May 2019
  • Hurricane Florence Relief Supply Collection, September 2018
  • AHIP Build Day (Albemarle Housing Improvement Program, a home repair nonprofit)

Photos for many of these events can be seen on our website and Facebook.

SERVPRO of Charlottesville: Building Community

12/6/2019 (Permalink)

Literally written on our office wall, in giant gold letters, are SERVPRO of Charlottesville’s Core Values of Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, and Growth.  By providing opportunities for our employees to participate in giving back to the local community, we are helping each other grow.  And, as part of the local community of Charlottesville, we want to be involved.

We continue to partner with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree gift drive, and participate with CAAR in delivering all their donations to the Salvation Army

Another example of how SERVPRO participates in our local community is our involvement with the Virginia Institute of Autism (VIA). Not only was SERVPRO of Charlottesville one of the 2019 Finish Line Sponsors, but several employees volunteered, and our Production Manager ran in the race. Our Marketing Team volunteered at the 2018 VIA Gala. We’ll be ready to run again next year!

Other opportunities for building community and personal growth:

  • Boys and Girls Club/Cops 4 Kids day
  • Montessori Truck Touch Event, May 2019
  • Hurricane Florence Relief Supply Collection, September 2018
  • AHIP Build Day (Home Repair non-profit)

Photos for many of these events can be seen on our website and Facebook.

Hurricane Florence Disaster Relief Supply Collection

9/21/2018 (Permalink)

In the days following Hurricane Florence there are still many needs to be met in the Carolinas and other areas that were affected by the hurricane. To help meet a few of these needs, SERVPRO of Charlottesville is teaming up with Gleaning For The World to collect disaster relief supplies.

How Can you Help?

We will be collecting at our office, 1610-C Quail Run from Monday September, 24 – Friday October, 5 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. If for any reason you want to donate but are unable to transport your donations to this location, please give us a call at 434-977-5850 or an email at office@SERVPROcharlottesville.com and we can arrange a more convenient drop-off location with one of our partnering companies. Or, if you would prefer, you can also give financially online at gftw.org/donate, just make sure to note “Florence” on the donation page to make sure that all of your gift is directed to responding to this storm event. Checks can be made out to “Gleaning For The World” and mailed to P.O. Box 645, Concord, VA 24538, or they can be dropped off with other donations.

We appreciate any help that you can offer as we are also appreciative for all the work that Gleaning For The World does to help provide disaster relief all year round.

Why Choose SERVPRO of Charlottesville for your Career

Leaders create more leaders

What separates us from the rest?

Here at SERVPRO of Charlottesville we have revamped our training.  We understand the importance of continual growth and do not want to see any of our employees become stagnant knowing that being stagnant can lead to disliking your work.  We want our employees to love what they do!

By pulling from what other successful businesses are doing and modifying to what we believe suits our franchise best we have set a self paced training system in place.  This training system clearly shows you what is needed from you in order for you to advance to the next step.  Because it is self paced, you determine how quickly you are able to advance and we ensure you have everything you need to get there.

In addition to the self paced training system, we also have morning training's for the whole crew throughout the week as well as on the job training provided by the assigned Crew Chief.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for leaders.  Leaders create more leaders and our goal is to have a team of leaders rather than a team with a leader.  If you have a passion for helping others and obtain our Core Values: Professionalism, Integrity, Respect, Servant Leadership, Teamwork, and Willingness then we would love to speak with you about joining our team.  Stop in or send an email to office@SERVPROcharlottesville.com
